In Virtrex, you have the option to choose your stream provider through which you want to stream. You can choose between Vimeo, Twitch and YouTube. If you would like to embed a livestream video from one of these third-party providers instead of using Virtrex, you will need to select the appropriate stream provider in your panel settings or brand page and enter your stream provider’s information:
For Vimeo, the event ID
For Twitch, the channel name
For YouTube the video ID
The first step to go live is to create an event on Vimeo. To do this, access Vimeo from your browser, click on “New Video” and select “Create Live Event”.
Enter the name, date, time, and privacy settings for the event and click “Next” to continue configuring your event. You will then be taken to the live settings page, where you can configure and customize your stream and get the event's server link and event ID.
On the right side of the live preview page, you will see two tabs: Webcam and Connect (RTMP).
Webcam: If you are using your webcam, click “Webcam Settings” here to configure your webcam and microphone as input sources and start streaming directly from your desktop browser. When your event is ready to start, click “Go Live” in the upper right corner and your webcam will go live.
Connect (RTMP): If you are using an external broadcasting program (such as OBS), this is where you will find the RTMP URL and stream key for your event. Copy and paste the RTMP URL and stream key into the appropriate fields of your broadcasting program. When your event is ready to start, begin streaming in your broadcasting program.
To end a stream, click “End Event” in the upper-right corner of Vimeo’s live preview page. You can then end the stream in your broadcasting program, if you are using one. When the stream ends, the live settings page turns into the post-live version and your video is archived. Once your video has gone through the archiving process, it appears in your video manager. You can also upload the saved video to Virtrex afterwards, so that it is available to visitors in the post-live.
